From phone calls and emails to online clicks: How ZARYS optimized their B2B sales with technology

From phone calls to clicks How ZARYS optimized their B2B sales with technology - blog post banner

Imagine managing a manufacturing company with thousands of products and multiple customer groups without the support of a B2B e-commerce platform. In this scenario, order processing, product data management, and providing customers with up-to-date availability information quickly become major challenges. That was exactly the situation faced by ZARYS International Group, a manufacturer of disposable medical supplies. In partnership with Tandemite and Hostersi, the company launched a modern B2B e-commerce platform based on Shopware, integrated with Pimcore PIM, SAP, and Microsoft Azure infrastructure.

Here’s how they did it, and how your business could benefit from a similar solution. Are you a sales director, growth manager, or business leader? You don't want to miss this!

From our experience

„B2B projects quickly show how much value comes from giving customers access to accurate, up-to-date information. When customers can independently check product details, inventory levels, or order history, the entire purchasing process becomes faster and more convenient – for both the customer and the sales team.” - Maciej Pałubicki, CEO Tandemite

Tired of phone and mail order processes? Elevate your manufacturing business

In the heart of the healthcare industry, ZARYS International Group experienced a major difficulty. As a manufacturer of disposable medical equipment with nearly 10,000 products, ZARYS served wholesalers, healthcare facilities, and hospitals across 60 countries on three continents. Their diverse range of products included everything from specialized medical devices to everyday necessities like gowns, needles, and gloves.

Problem: Business customers often faced challenges in quickly placing orders and understanding product availability. ZARYS needed a better way to make the ordering process easier for them. Orders were being taken over the phone or by mail, which was inefficient and risked mistakes.

Solution: A sleek, intuitive B2B online platform that would let customers order medical equipment online, and see real-time product availability. Together with company Hostersi, we focused on developing a full-featured ecommerce store from scratch using Shopware and Azure, supported by accurate integrations. This platform was designed to serve ZARYS’s large-order business customers such as hospitals.

PS: We’ve also made it easy to keep all product-related data displayed on ecommerce (including descriptions, names, and images) updated and accurate. We achieved this with Pimcore, a product information management system. For more on phase 1 of our work with ZARYS, which included Pimcore implementation and integration with SAP, follow this link.

Business clients can see immediately if a product is in stock or not.

The new platform integrates with ZARYS’s existing systems, providing real-time visibility into product availability. Current product quantities speed up the ordering process.

With a B2B platform, pricing and limits are tailored for each customer, making it great for high-volume purchases.

3. Secure infrastructure

Hostersi’s expertise was crucial in establishing the infrastructure for Shopware on Azure. They configured servers and deployed an optimal hosting environment focused on performance, scalability, and security.

This setup was meticulously configured to handle increased user and data loads, with flexibility to adjust to the business’s evolving needs.

Azure's advanced features, like access management, security monitoring, and threat protection, ensure safety of the infrastructure and data.

FAQ

What are the benefits of a B2B e-commerce platform for manufacturers?

A B2B e-commerce platform streamlines the sales process by allowing business customers to place orders independently, check product availability, view order history, and access customer-specific pricing and commercial terms. For manufacturers, this means faster order processing, fewer manual errors, and more efficient sales operations.

What role does Pimcore play in a B2B platform?

Pimcore serves as the central hub for product information management. Product descriptions, images, technical specifications, and other product data are maintained in one place and then distributed to the B2B platform and other sales channels. This ensures customers always have access to accurate, consistent, and up-to-date product information.

Why is Shopware a good choice for B2B e-commerce?

Shopware offers a wide range of features designed specifically for B2B commerce, including customer-specific pricing, business account management, advanced product catalogs, personalized purchasing experiences, and integration with ERP and PIM systems. Its flexible architecture also allows the platform to evolve as business requirements grow.

How does a B2B platform integrate with SAP?

Integrating a B2B platform with SAP enables automatic data synchronization between the e-commerce platform and the ERP system. As a result, customers gain access to real-time inventory levels, pricing, order history, and credit limits, while the organization benefits from consistent and up-to-date data across all connected business systems.

Why should manufacturers move B2B sales online?

Moving B2B sales online helps automate processes that previously relied on phone calls and email communication. Customers can place orders 24/7, access up-to-date product information, and complete purchases more efficiently. For manufacturers, this leads to better customer service, greater scalability, and the ability to grow sales without proportionally increasing operational workload.
